Choir mourns the death of longstanding member
It is with great sadness that we share news of the death of Choir Member, Ray Matthews. Ray was a top tenor, a stalwart member of the choir since September 2004, and he played a significant role in many, many concerts. For a while he was first tenor representative. He will be greatly missed by the choir. His funeral will be held at All Saints, Torre on a date to be announced.

BOMVC performs with Welsh National Opera at Theatre Royal Plymouth
On 23 April BOMVC performed several songs during the interval of a performance of Blaze of Glory by the Welsh National Opera at Theatre Royal Plymouth. The story is about a Welsh Male Voice Choir enjoying a resurgence following a dreadful pit disaster. It has many parallels with our own story.
It was a great privilege to be part of the show and you can see some extracts of the songs by linking to our You Tube Channel below where you can also enjoy many other clips.

Torbay Music Festival
On Friday 13 March the choir took part in the Torbay Music Festival. It was a great occasion with many other choirs, ensembles and smaller vocal groups performing. We entered two classes and hoped to repeat our success at last year’s festival and come away with a trophy. Sadly we were pipped to the post in both classes, Community Choir and Adult Choir, by some very impressive performers. However, we managed to impress the adjudicator who had some very encouraging words to say about our singing. We look forward to entering the festival again next year when maybe we will be rewarded with some silverware.
